SIDI ABSOLUTELY DOMINATES THE TRACK AT PHILLIP ISLAND - Alvaro Bautista masters his debut in Superbike. Randy Krummenacher wins the Supersport race.

The season has gotten off to the best possible start for Sidi and our riders in the WorldSBK series. In the first round of the 2019 World Series held on the Phillip Island racetrack in Australia, Alvaro Bautista won everything in his Superbike debut. The Spanish rider from team Aruba.it Racing – Ducati scored a magical triple, capturing race1 on Saturday and then replicating the feat on Sunday by winning the Superpole race, which is one of the new events of the season. He then went on to win race2 as well. On the Australian circuit Bautista carved out an impressive lead ahead of the second ranked rider who had dominated the last four seasons, Britain’s Jonathan Rea, on Kawasaki.

Winter tests had indicated that Bautista was riding his Ducati Panigale V4 remarkably fast, but things always turn out differently once it comes to actual racing. Instead the Spaniard has consolidated his status in this season’s first Grand Prix race. He has already put all his adversaries in line, proving himself to be the man to beat. Not since Max Biaggi in 2007 has a rider won his debut in the Superbike class.

Alvaro Bautista competes on the racetrack and shines on the podium in his Sidi boots. Sidi already supported the Spanish rider in his previous seasons riding in MotoGP; now we are following him on this new adventure in Superbike. Alvaro Bautista uses Sidi MAG-1 boots, which have consistently been one of the top models in the Sidi collection for track and speed.

This was a simply perfect weekend on the Phillip Island raceway for Sidi, which also took home the victory in the Supersport race with Randy Krummenacher on the saddle of his Yamaha from team Bardahl Evan Bros. What better gift could the Swiss rider have given himself for his twenty-ninth birthday? This is the third bull’s-eye he has scored in this category during his career. In 2018 Krummenacher closed out the WorldSSP Series in fourth place, but this year it looks like he could be one of the major contenders vying for the title. He has chosen Sidi REX boots, the new racing model offered by the Sidi Collection. This innovative boot with a modern design features a cutting-edge structure comprising the highest technology, maximum functionality and finest quality.
