SIDI’S FIRST VICTORY IN 2019 COMES FROM AUSTRALIA … - The first bull’s-eye in the World Tour’s new season was scored by Jasper Philipsen.

First race, first victory! The young Belgian rider Jasper Philipsen has given Sidi their first success in the 2019 World Tour season. The 20-year-old Philipsen prevailed in the 5th stage of the Santos Tour Down Under, from Glenelg to Strathalbyn for 149.5 km, thus delivering his UAE Team Emirates their first victory in the new year. Initially, Philipsen was second in the order of the stage arrival; then he clinched a much-merited success after the jury disqualified Caleb Ewan (Lotto-Soudal) for an irregular sprint. In his first year of racing for a top team, Philipsen is proving to be not only an excellent sprinter but also a rider with the right skills and physical attributes to be able to stand out in the Northern Classics. Sidi was eager to have this young talent on their team and they are really counting on him for the future. He gets to wear the Shot shoes, the top models in Sidi’s road racing collection due to their applied technology, the use of cutting-edge materials, comfort and safety for the foot, aerodynamics and design. This first achievement in 2019 is definitely a fine start…
