SIDI FIRES UP ITS ENGINES… - Today special guests: Alvaro Bautista, Bradley Smith, Xavier Simeon, Loris Capirossi and Ivan Cervantes…

Sidi was having a big celebration today. How could we not, when we have the honour and the privilege of hosting so many champions at once?
For the traditional annual meeting of Sidi brand (motorcycle sector) distributors from all over the world, we had the following list of guest stars: Moto GP riders Alvaro Bautista, Bradley Smith and Xavier Simeon, along with one of the best and most charismatic riders of all time, Loris Capirossi and furthermore, an off-road motorcycling specialist like Ivan Cervantes.

Alvaro Bautista, Bradley Smith and Xavier Simeon made it to Sidi’s general headquarters in Maser (Treviso) after an intense and spectacular week-end, during which they figured as major players on the Mugello speedway in the Italian GP for round 6 in the 2018 Moto GP Series.

Capirex’s calling card reads thus:  3 World Championships in his career (1990, 1991 and 1998), 328 races run with 29 victories and 99 podiums. These are important numbers for the Italian pilot, which are still worth the absolute record for race competitions and which make him the youngest rider to have won a World Championship title. Loris Capirossi is one of the all-time greats on the track, and we are very proud that he is also part of team Sidi.

From the race track to off-road, Sidi presented another one of our aces: Ivan Cervantes. The Spanish rider has won the Enduro World Championships 5 times and has participated in the last 3 editions of the Dakar (2016-2017-2018)…it is the race of his dreams, one which he wants to try and win someday.

Ducati Moto GP rider Michele Pirro was justifiably excused. The Italian champion was involved in a spectacular and scary fall on Friday in the free practice for the Italian GP. Luckily for him, he came away quite shaken, but with only a few bumps and scrapes; however, after a precautionary hospital visit, Pirro showed up at the Ducati pit on Sunday to watch the race as a spectator. The entire Sidi staff wishes him a speedy recovery and hope he is back on his motorcycle very soon.
