ONE MORE BEER…SIDI IS CELEBRATING! - At the Amstel Gold Race in Holland Michael Valgren is first and Enrico Gasparotto third.

Sidi champions have emerged as major stars on the Northern roads of the spring classics. Denmark’s Michael Valgren won the Amstel Gold Race. The Dutch “beer” classic brought immense satisfaction and plenty of thrills to the Sidi colours, as well as to all fans of great cycling. There were two Sidi athletes toasting on the podium with the ubiquitous beer: Michael Valgren first and Enrico Gasparotto third. Both riders belong to teams that are entirely sponsored by Sidi, in fact, the Dane rides for Astana Pro Team while the Italian belongs to team Bahrain-Merida.

Two years ago Valgren came close to the mark, but ended up ceding in the sprint against Gasparotto (who has won the Amstel race twice in his career, in 2012 and 2016). However, this time the Danish rider made no mistakes and emerged victorious in the Amstel Gold Race. In a two-man sprint, Valgren beat Czech rider Roman Kreuziger; an impressive Enrico Gasparotto right behind them and had to settle for third place.

This is definitely the most important victory in Michael Valgren’s career. So now, after Vincenzo Nibali’s victory in the Sanremo, Sidi can add another victory in a prestigious classic to its 2018 victory haul.
