SIDI SHINES IN ASSEN. SOFUOGLU IS BACK! - Sidi’s Turkish riders dominate the scene: Sofuoglu first in Supersport and Razgatlioglu first in Superstock 1000.

It was a great show on the track in Assen, Holland for Sidi and their pilots. The Supersport World Series welcomed the return of their favourite star: Kenan Sofuoglu (Kawasaki Puccetti Racing). The season got off to a very difficult start for the Turkish rider when he sustained injuries before the race in Phillip Island and suffered a fall in Aragon; now he’s back on top after capturing a much merited victory. Sofuoglu was already ahead of everyone in the qualifying, and he set the pace to put everyone in line from the first to the last lap to clinch his success. Places of honour go to Frenchmen Lucas Mahias (Yamaha GRT) and Jules Cluzel (CIA Landlord Insurance Honda), who had to bow down to the pounding rhythm of the Turkish rider. Kenan Sofuoglu had been missing from the highest step on the podium since the race in Jerez in 2016. Plenty of thrills have yet to come, because we are sure that the most victorious rider ever in the history of Supersport and the current World Champion distinguished by his gold Sidi Vortice boots, with 5 World Titles under his belt, will definitely be trying to re-spark the 2017 season.

Staying in Assen for round 2 of the 2017 World Series in the Superstock 1000 class race, success came to the other Turkish rider on the Sidi team, the young Topark Razgatlioglu (Kawasaki Puccetti Racing). Sidi was also on the podium with Frenchman Florian Marino (PATA Yamaha Official STK 1000 Team), who came in third. Just a reminder that in round 1 in Aragon, Florian Marino came in second and that in the overall standings in the World Series the two Sidi riders are hot on the wheels of the leader Rinaldi, who is in first place with 45 points, but followed by Razgatlioglu with 38 points and Marino with 36 points. On the track and on the podium they are always wearing their Sidi Vortice boots. It’s going to be an exciting and wide-open battle for the title.
