SIDI “TRIPLETE” IN FRANCE - MX2: Jorge Prado 1st, Thomas Covington 2nd and Thomas Kjer Olsen 3rd

Sidi’s green line strikes again. In the MX2 race of last weekend’s French GP on the Saint Jean d’Angely racetrack, the young champions from team Sidi knew no rivals as they put quite a show and thrilled the crowds.

The final classification for the GP made for an all-Sidi podium: in first place Spain’s Jorge Prado (KTM); 2nd place went to American Thomas Covington (Husqvarna) and Dane Thomas Kjer Olsen (Husqvarna) took third. Prado won race2 and came in third in race1; vice versa Covington won race1 and came in third in race2. Olsen also had a fine race. These extraordinary riders compete on the racetrack and shine on the podium in their Crossfire 3 SRS boots, which are once again the top models in Sidi’s off-road collection.

The young Spanish rider who rides for KTM is turning out to be one of the finest talents on the international motocross scene; this is his fourth victory of the season. This success brings Prado to within just 16 lengths of the current MX2 World Series leader, Pauls Jonass, who heads the rankings with 434 points. For the next race at the Ottobiano racetrack in Italy, Jorge will definitely be on a full-out assault to capture the red plate.

Keeping an eye on the younger generation, France’s Mathys Boisrame (Honda) also had a good run in the EMX250, taking first place in race1 and fourth in race2 to win the Grand Prix. Boisrame commands the overall standings in the European Championship series, ahead of Englishmen Pocock and Barr.

Meanwhile, in the MXGP, the duel between Jeffrey Herlings and Tony Cairoli continues. The Dutchman clinched his seventh success, but  9-time World Champion Tony Cairoli, who was second yet again, is not giving up, and he will continue his pursuit towards achieving the dream of a 10th  title. Herlings leads the classification with 486 points and Cairoli is second with 424. Next Sunday the races will move to Italy and Cairoli will do everything he can to return to winning in front of a home crowd and reignite the battle for the World Series title.
