SIDI AND TONY CAIROLI CLAIM THE LEADER’S RED PLATE IN THE WORLD CHAMPIONSHIP - Round 3 of the World Series held in Comunitat Valenciana GP.

With a classic performance, Tony Cairoli (KTM) left his mark on the third round of the motocross World Series. He scored a double with victories in race1 and race 2, which led to triumph in the final standings of the GP, and more importantly assigned him the red plate as the leader of the World MXGP. In the Valenciana race, Antonio Cairoli beat Jeffrey Herlings (KTM), who was a close second, right behind the Sicilian rider in both race1 and race2. Clement Desalle (Kawasaki) was third.

Right now Cairoli is in a 141-point tie with Herlings for the lead in the general classification of the championship. However, we can confirm that the 9-time World Champion showed impressive skill on the red sands of Spain, proving that he is, for all intents and purposes, aiming for his 10th World Title, which would make him a definitive motocross legend. As always, as he strives towards his goals, Tony Cairoli can count on Sidi’s support with their Crossfire 3 SRS boots, number one on any terrain and in any weather.

This race was tremendously satisfying to Sidi, a major player on the World motocross scene in other categories as well. In fact, in the MX2 Danish rider Thomas Kjer Olsen (Husqvarna) and Spanish rider Jorge Prado (KTM) emerged as the most formidable threats to the remarkable Paul Jonass (KTM). Jonass won the Grand Prix, with Prado and Olsen coming in second and third, respectively. Now Jonass commands the MX2 World rankings with 150 points, followed by Olsen with 120 and Prado with 105. It promises to be a heated battle, one well-worth watching, in both the MXGP and the MX2. The next big event will be on April 8th, when the Cairoli - Herlings duel will resume from Arco di Trento, Italy, in the fourth round of the World Series.
