SUPERSPORT: SIDI AND KENAN SOFUOGLU 2016 WORLD CHAMPIONS! - The Turkish rider is the most victorious rider ever in the history of Supersport.

Over the week-end Kenan Sofuoglu (Kawasaki Puccetti Racing) clinched victory on the Jerez speedway in Spain, beating Niki Tuuli and Kyle Smith to take home the title of Champion with one race still to go until the end of the season in the 2016 FIM Supersport World Championship.

This is the fifth World Supersport title in the career of this 32-year-old Turkish ace, and his second consecutive victory from 2015 to 2016. After a compelling and hard-fought World Series season, everything seemed to come easy for Sofuoglu in Jerez. He shot out from pole position and remained ahead for the entire race. His only rival for the title was team mate Randy Krummenacher, who was knocked out by a fall after only 5 laps. This insured the mathematical certainty of Sofuoglu’s World triumph.

As always, Kenan Sofuoglu battles on the track and shines on the podium in his custom Sidi Vortice boots, featuring special graphics designed specifically for the Turkish rider. These boots from the Sidi speed and track collection continue to stand out as the top models in terms of lightness, safety, comfort and performance.

With this fantastic feat, Sofuoglu has written another chapter in the annals of great motorcycling, further reinforcing his status as the most triumphant rider ever in the history of  Supersport, a category where up to now he has garnered 38 victories (6 this year), 30 pole positions and a total of 70 podiums. Furthermore, with this result Sofuoglu has helped Kawasaki win the Manufacturers’ Champions title in the 2016 World SSP.
