NINO SCHURTER AND SIDI STILL WORLD CHAMPIONS! - All the Sidi Sport medals at the XC World Championships in Nove Mesto na Morave.

Nino Schurter is the 2016 World Champion in mountain bike’s cross-country specialty. The most anticipated Elite men’s race served as a spectacular conclusion to the mountain bike World Championships that hit the scene in Nove Mesto Na Morave in the Czech Republic. The Swiss champion dominated the race to maintain the rainbow jersey he won last year on the Pyrenees. This is Nino Schurter’s fifth career World Title, a record score after Canberra 2009, Saalfelden 2012, Pietermaritzburg 2013 and Andorra 2015.

There is tremendous satisfaction at Sidi Sport for this victory and for all the other results achieved. In fact, in third place we find another great from the ranks of Sidi champions, Frenchman Julien Absalon, who can add another World Championship medal to his already heavy portfolio. Furthermore, Sidi also took fourth place, just shy of the podium, with Czech Ondrej Cink, who gave a magnificent performance in front of his home crowd.

The Sidi TIGER shoe immediately won titles and medals in its first race. This new Sidi Sport model was used for the very first time in a race right here in Nove Mesto by the “two stars”, Nino Schurter and Julien Absalon. There could not have been a better debut for this new addition to the Sidi collection.

The all – Sidi duel between Schurter and Absalon that has been lighting up the XC World Cup season also brought spectacular thrills here at the World Championships in Nove Mesto, and we are sure that in a little more than a month will see these two champions battling again, this time for an Olympic podium in Rio 2016.

The men were extraordinary but so were the women. In fact, in Nove Mesto Sidi also celebrated the great victory by Sweden’s Jenny Rissveds, who captured the World Title in the under23 women’s race, blowing away all the competition.
