ALL THE SIDI VICTORIES BETWEEN SLOVENIA, FRANCE AND SWITZERLAND - Sidi & Team Katusha: Rein Taaramae captures the Tour de Slovenie.

The Sidi Sport brand continues to ride a wave of successes on the roads of great international cycling events. Riders who came out of the Giro d’Italia in great shape are now taking advantage of this time to achieve some important results. At the same time there are other riders who are fine-tuning their form as they look forward to the big date with the Tour de France (2-24 July). All this activity has led to the many victories scored by Sidi champions these last few days. And, as always, they were all wearing Sidi Wire shoes.

Rein Taaramae (Team Katusha), became the first Estonian to conquer a stage in the Giro d’Italia this year, on the Alps, at Sant’Anna di Vinadio. At the Tour de Slovenie (16-19 June), he also scored victory in the final classification of this short Slovenian stage race. His success was built with his victory in the 2nd stage with arrival in Gole; from then on Taaramae never relinquished the yellow leader’s jersey, defending himself in the time trial at Celjska Koca and closing out in 2nd place, 4” behind Diego Ulissi. In Slovenia Sidi also enjoyed a nice victory with Russian Alexander Porsev (Team Katusha), in the conclusive fraction with arrival in Novo Mesto. It was an all Sidi & Team Katusha party in Slovenia, which once again underscores this winning combination. In fact, don’t forget that this year all the riders on this formidable Russian World Tour formation use Sidi Sport brand shoes, shoe covers and socks.

Things also went really well for Sidi in France at the Route du Sud (16-19 June), which many consider the last test before the Tour. Arnaud Demare (Fdj), who already won the 2016 Sanremo, won the 5th and last stage in this race to take home the points jersey for best sprinter. Sidi also scored the jersey for best climber with Quentin Jauregui (Ag2r).

And finally, let’s look at Switzerland and the Tour de Suisse (11-19 June). Argentine Maximiliano Richeze (Etixx – Quick-Step) won the bunch sprint in the 4th stage with arrival in Champagne, even managing to dominate the final classification for the points' jersey in this short yet prestigious stage race.

Next weekend is an important one for Sidi and their champions, who will be riding on the roads of almost every European country to vie for the National champion jerseys of their respective nations.
