JULIEN ABSALON LAYS DOWN THE LAW IN HIS HOME TURF RACE - The Frenchman wins the XC World Cup race in La Bresse.

It was another day to remember for Julien Absalon (BMC Mtb Racing Team)…and another day to remember for Sidi Sport. In La Bresse, France, in the third round of the season for the MTB cross country World Cup series, Julien Absalon clinched the 31st victory of his career. The Frenchman, who also won the European title this year, is racking up some impressive numbers. There could not have been a finer location for Julien Absalon to triumph than right here in France, since he lives just a few kilometres from this town in Lorraine. The warmth and affection from the local crowd was palpable, as they supported their French mountain bike idol from the start to the finish. Absalon crossed the finish line alone, arms raised in victory, with a time of 1h26'38''. Behind him came his fellow countrymen Maxime Marotte, 1 minute back, and Victor Koretzky at 1'24''.

Alas, the other star from the Sidi family, Switzerland’s Nino Schurter (Scotto Odlo Mtb Racing Team), only came in fourth. Winner of the first two tests in the World Cup series, this time Nino was slowed down by a fall and subsequent mechanical problems. However the Swiss is still the leader in the World Cup general classification with 650 points, while Absalon is in second place with 610. It is going to be an all-Sidi battle, with these two authentic mountain bike giants providing plenty of thrills right up to the end.

As always, Sidi champions battle it out among the dust and mud on the track, and shine on the podium in their Drako Carbon Srs shoes, which are still the top models in the off-road collection by Sidi Sport. The season continues; now all eyes of Sidi’s MTB champions are focused on the World Championships to be held in Nove Mesto, the Czech Republic, from June 28th to July 3rd. And don’t forget the big date with the 2016 Olympic Games in Rio in August. It’s bound to be a great show!
