MTB: SIDI’S DOMINION IN THE WORLD CUP - Nino Schurter 1st and Julien Absalon 2nd in Albstadt.

The second round of the mountain bike cross country World Cup took place in Albstadt, Germany over the week-end. In the Elite men’s race, after his victory in the inaugural test a month ago in Cairns, Australia, Switzerland’s Nino Schurter (Scott-Odlo Mtb Racing Team) performed an instant replay with a spectacular triumph.

What we saw in Germany was a spectacular, compelling and all-Sidi duel between two authentic mountain biking giants. In fact, Frenchman Julien Absalon (BMC Mtb Racing Team) fresh off his fourth consecutive win of the European Title in Huskvarna (Sweden), had to settle for second place after getting bested by Schurter in the sprint.
In Albstadt Sidi also received satisfaction in the Elite women’s field with a fine second place by the young Swede Jenny Rissveds (Scott-Odlo Mtb Racing Team).
As always, Sidi champions give battle in the race and shine on the podium wearing their Drako Carbon Srs shoes, the top models in the Sidi Sport brand’s off road collection.

The XCO World Cup series will be back in one week, in La Bresse, France on May 28th – 29th. There is no lack of important goals this season for Sidi champions. In fact, the eyes of all bikers are already focusing on the World Championships (June 28th – July 3rd in Novo Mesto, the Czech Republic) and especially on the 2016 Rio Olympic Games (August 20th -21st).
