BIKERS FROM BART BRENTJENS WEAR SIDI SPORT FOOTWEAR - Major goals include the 2016 Rio Olympics and the World Cup in Nove Mesto na Morave.

Sidi Sport has always been synonymous with great cycling, both on the road and off. This year the Sidi Sport off-road family is expanding and becoming stronger. In fact, Sidi will be the sponsor and technical supplier for the CST Superior Brentjens Mountainbike Racing Team for the 2016 and 2017 seasons.

Under this new deal all the bikers on the Dutch MTB squad will be using Sidi Drako Carbon Srs shoes, which are the top models in the Sidi Sport-branded off-road collection.

The team can count on a leader who has great experience. Their owner and manager is Bart Brentjens, a distinguished name in the world of mountain biking. Brentjens won a gold medal in Atlanta in 1996. He was the first Olympic champion in this sport at the Olympics in history. And that day, when he wrote an unforgettable chapter in mountain bike history in Atlanta, Sidi shoes were right there with him. Brentjens’ portfolio includes the World Title he won in 1995, an Olympic bronze at Athens in 2004, victory in the general MTB World Cup in 1994, and 10 national Dutch titles in the field.

Bart Brentjens is the motor and the spirit of the team. His leadership is spurring them to aim for some important goals. The team is working towards and looking forward to the 2016 Rio Olympic Games. It’s been exactly 20 years since his Olympic gold in Atlanta and now Brentjens is gunning to make it back to the podium; this time, however, with one of his bikers, who will obviously be able to rely on Sidi Sport shoes.

The CST Superior Brentjens Mountainbike Racing Team is working to become one of the strongest teams in the world. It is currently ranked in the Top 5 among UCI squads. Brentjens is betting on a pool of top notch athletes, with headliners like Yana Belomoina (Ukraine), Grant Ferguson (Great Britain) and Rudi van Houts (Holland), who have already qualified for Rio and who have the skills and potential to go far.

Next to them there is Hans Becking (Holland), Margo Moschetti (France) and the youngster Sebastian Fini Carstensen (Denmark). They all have a chance to qualify for Rio. Not to mention Jiri Novak (Czech Republic) who is especially concentrated on the World Marathon, this year’s MTB World Championship Series being held right on his home turf, in Nove Mesto na Morave.
